2 Corinthians 12: 9 And He said to me,“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

I may be weak by the world’s standards, but I don’t adhere to what the world might think.

“For when I am weak, than I am strong.”

“It takes a strong person to admit their weakness.”
~Jennifer L. Faust quote~

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being my rock, my strong tower. You are what keeps me strong.

No matter what may come my way, You are my anchor in the storm.

Amen.

I wrote this on my facebook status last night.

Tonight, I was at a worship service while my husband, Ben, was at home recording the sermon for tomorrow’s service in Second Life. It was raining when he came to get me. He got out of the car to put the umbrella over me, but he didn’t have to. He shows me so much of what unconditional love is!

:-)

I love you, Ben!! :-D

That Jesus cares for me,
It matters not what life may bring-
He loves me tenderly.”

“I once was full of self, and proud
Just like a Pharisee,
Until one day, quite by surprise,
I caught a glimpse of me.”
~Hawthorne~

“When you forget yourself, you usually start doing something others will remember.”
~Author Unknown~

Heavenly Father,

I don’t want to be known as a selfish, proud Pharisee. I want to be known as a selfless, humble me who only got there because I submitted to God, drew near to Him, and humbled myself in His sight.

Amen.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

In character, actions, and will,
For You are the potter and I am the clay-
Your purposes I would fulfill.”

Lift up your voice and with us sing, Alleluia! Alleluia!

1 Samuel 15: 17 So Samuel said, “When you were little in your own eyes, were you not head of the tribes of Israel? And did not the Lord anoint you king over Israel?18 Now the Lord sent you on a mission, and said, ‘Go, and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.’19 Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord? Why did you swoop down on the spoil, and do evil in the sight of the Lord?” 20 And Saul said to Samuel, “But I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and gone on the mission on which the Lord sent me, and brought back Agag king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the Lord your God in Gilgal.”

22 So Samuel said:
“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord,
He also has rejected you from being king.”

Saul disobeyed God! He blamed the people for the plunder, sheep, and oxen. If he was a TRUE leader, he would have taken responsibility!

The Lord sent Samuel to Jesse where he anointed David king.

“Help me, O Lord, lest my heart become proud,
For all of my talents by You are endowed;
Nothing I have can I claim as my own-
What mercy and grace in my life You have shown!”
